Meet Ferrell Fort, DDS


Dr. Nelson Ferrell Fort has over 30 years of experience as an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon as he has been practicing and providing care in the Meridian area since 1983. He attended the University of Mississippi as an undergraduate and then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1979.

Dr. Fort completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Louisiana State Medical Center in 1983, where he held the position of Chief Resident.  He has received many awards during his education and training, such as the Alpha Omega Scholastic Award and being initiated into the distinguished Omicron Kappa Upsilon Scholastic Society.

Dr. Fort is proud to be associated with the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Mississippi Dental Association where he is a Past President of District III, and Meridian Area Dental Society where he also served as a Past President.  He holds staff appointments at Anderson Regional Medical Center and the Meridian Surgery Center and is on the Advisory Board of the Meridian Community College Dental Hygiene Program.  Dr. Fort also is honored to donate his services to the Care Lodge (shelter for domestic abuse) and the Hope Village for Children.

Born in Meridian, Dr. Fort has been a part of the community for most of his life.  He and his wife Leigh, also a native of Meridian, enjoy the outdoors, hunting and fishing together, going to ballgames and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
